About Juliette McCullough

Juliette is an artist whose immersion in the essence of pigment transforms paint into more than a mere substance - it becomes an alchemical medium through which pure intuition flows. The material metamorphoses into a dynamic, unspoken language that emerges from depths far removed from the sterile confines of academic thought.

In her work, each brushstroke is infused with archetypal energy, echoing the elusive realms of the personal and collective unconscious. The imagery she creates speaks in the quiet dialect of the soul, transcending everyday dialogue and inviting us to inhabit a space where embodiment outlasts the fading memories of rationality.

Juliette McCullough was born and grew up in England, where she received her education, culminating in her post-graduate study at The Royal Academy of Arts London. Her most important and influential artist teachers were Maurice de Sauzmarez at the Byam Shaw School, Roderick Barrett at the Royal Academy Euan Uglow, Henry Inlander and Charles Houghton Howard and Theodore Mendez at Camberwell School of Art and Craft. She also studied for one year in Munich with Adolph Hartmann.

She has exhibited extensively in Britain and the U.S.A., as well as in Italy and Japan. Her work is in corporate and private collections on both sides of the Atlantic. At the end of her graduate studies in London, she was singled out by having one of her paintings bought by Francis Bacon.

Juliette continues her art practice in Dallas, Texas. She received The Moss Chumley Award from the Meadows Museum of Art in 2009. This prestigious award is given annually to an outstanding North Texas Artist who has exhibited professionally for at least ten years and has a proven track record as an active community advocate for the Visual Arts.
